You’re right of course. But most of those billions never make it the Iraqis and Afghans. Instead it is diverted to the military defense contractors. Next year Biden wants a $9.8 percent pay raise for “defense” spending, which is about $77 billion. That’s the increase not the budget. So from what you’re saying, we could instead use $50 billion to permanently solve this crisis, which still would leave a $27 billion dollar pay raise for weapon manufacturers. Why can’t we vote on this as a people? I actually thinks millions would vote for this solution. Just one year without a FULL pay raise for military to solve the housing crisis permanently. You’re right, this works for me.
Unfortunately, reasonable people with solutions like yours don’t get elected.
