You’re exactly right here and when you say that CRT should part be of an us-versus-them shame fest. The problem is that the back professors are not the ones making you feel the opposite. It is the GOP who have jumped on this CRT. The politics of grievance is what drives the irrationally motivated animus of their base to stick together — a white people base. I grew up similar, poor, white, male, etc. But I refuse to be a part of their deceptive hate machine. They are not using CRT to tale rationally about the legal history of denying blacks the same rights the way the constitution was set up (‘with liberty and justice for all’), but instead to make primarily uneducated whites angry that blacks are getting special treatment in history books. That of of course is not true. CRT was not meant to be a divisive political weapon, but a college theory in law that simply presented a different way of seeing events, history, the law and how it is used to a bunch of law students interested. Getting people to think is anathema to how the current GOP/Fox strategists have reversed the original intent in order to weaponize it.
