Yes, the Iran-Contra scandal outlined how weapons were sold to Iran, the money laundered in Central America, then coke, which became crack was brought into the US. There was relatively recent movie about the reporter who broke the story with Jeremy Renner I believe call The Messenger I can recommend. I watched the video clip as well of the CIA director in LA talking to the black community, I think even apologizing, and the people lined up at the mic and gave him a piece of mind. It’s a classic: black Americans from Compton speaking truth to power. Even university presidents don’t do that when called in front of Congress about the anti-Semitic witch trials. It’s real. The crack epidemic looks like it was kicked off by the government, that lead to mass incarceration, which lead to major profits from companies building private and public prisons, outsourcing all food contracts to a couple now big private companies, contracts to operate the prisons, hundreds of factories being built attached to prisons where black Americans and now Latinos are forced to work as labors and rented out to domestic and foreign companies as a source of cheap or free labor. It’s the largest labor camp in the world, run by the BOP, or Unicor, and by states like Florida (Pride Enterprises). So, it’s not a conspiracy. It kicked off the largest captured labor program in US history and the biggest prison boom and investment spree in any western nation ever.
Thanks for bringing this vital piece of history to our attention.
