Yeah, that was a great story and I was so glad he repeated that story from SC. I from up north, and when I some white people called me “A Yankee” when I attended graduate school in the South, I couldn’t fully process the meaning though I could still feel an impact and intent. I used to sit under the confederate flag correcting papers in South Carolina when the national debate was raging in the mid nineties about moving that flag down, from under the American flag to the side. It was quite unbelievable to walk by it and look up and stare it during those days.
