Wow, I had not seen the details of that bill. Racist waters run deep. It is mildly amazing that these facts I just learned here could happen “today.” I probably would have been more shocked 20 years ago. But now thanks to Trump and Derek Chauvin-ist a few of us in the white part of the human race are realizing the depth of racism in the government. In 2000 Alabama only 60 percent voted to remove it, as you write. Which mean 40 percent of the voters are solidly racist. Mississippi only ratified the 13th amendment in 2013. The racist slaveholder Senator Eastland from Mississippi would not quit the Democrat Party when Strom told him to in 1964 and stayed on to give his endorsement to Jimmy Carter. There is still so much tolerance in the Democrat Party for the blatant racism, probably because the Northern and Southern Democrats were the realist party that started the Civil War then went on together until 1964 caucusing. They’re not not used to fighting for Civil Rights, which effect everyone, not just black Americans, though the repression Of civil rights (you can human rights if you want) has vastly and disproportionately affected black Americans.

We still have to call it out with strength and force. I’m just getting tired of the “meh” nicey-nice messaging from the democrats of “oh, let’s just all get along, and we’ll give you cheaper drugs and help keep rent down.” Even Stacey Abrams has moderated her message this election cycle. Where is the outrage at the injustice of oppression? Why are the oppressors mob storming the Capitol and the oppressed just playing along with such dispassionate weakness, except for AOC?

THANKS much!
