I Feel Stress Tested: A MAGA Dad Grooming His Children to Stress Out Democracy [Thanks to the internet]

Two critical failures are happening that represent the state of democracy from different angles. One is the banking collapse in Silicon Valley of a bank, SVB. This one is getting immediate intervention. The second one is happening in Britain, and on the surface seems surreal and perhaps to Americans trivial but is quite real. A sport announcer criticized the UK government’s new immigration policy as violating human rights. These are two types of very real stress tests, a system for understanding how a system is functioning. They are simulations to see a breaking point in that system and measure how strong or weak a system is.

So, what test do we have for American democracy in general to test it? I propose a Black Stress Test. Democracy is the most critical part of America, more than a bank.

In the first case, in the UK, the BBC is in turmoil because the most popular sports announcer criticized the immigration policy the conservative government has. “Gary Lineker has been pulled from BBC football highlights show Match of the Day after his social media posts criticised the government’s new asylum policy.” They have suspended Gary for tweeting in his off hours about how he is against the inhuman policy of the new government.
