Unfortunately, I have to completely agree with you. Morally Biden has an opportunity in the Trump era to stand up to racism and abusive treatment of blacks, trying to rid the government of laws still on the books that are against blacks, either implicitly or explicitly, like the thirteenth amendment part about allowing for basically free labor of captured men, or new voting laws. There is no shame in hitting an underhand slow pitch lob ball out of the ballpark when swinging a tree truck at it. It’s expected. He won’t. But in our two grocery store town, we really have no choice where to shop. I do think that you may be slightly mistaken about the third party in potential supporters. There are plenty of “angry” (or ‘principled’ I should say) white males who would join. Asians tend to vote conservatively if not necessarily Republican, and Hispanics are divided and not as ‘easy’ to pin down. I met white socialist and communists in Minnesota. In the north east there are plenty of whites who would join (like my whole family up there). The principles of equality and justice for all are always in vogue for some. Let me know where to sign up.
