How the Rich Get Richer

Time plus Angry mobs equals wealth

What all the Republicans who are MAGA-ites have in common we already know: anger. They are angry the election was stolen. They are angry at Biden for being weak, at Kamala Harris because she colored and powerful, at inflation, at gas prices, at illegal immigrants.

In effect, they are angry at whatever they are told to be angry at.

That’s really exhausting, being constantly angry. Sure, they’re not angry all the time, but most of the white men Maga-sites are ready to snap if you say the wrong thing. Black Americans might know this better, especially in the South. I would not recommend, as a social experiment, going up to up a MAGA pick-up truck here in Texas and telling the driver “Trump is such a loser moron, why do your people tolerate this dumb grifter?” Unless you’re a trained “prankster” with a camera and a plan, like some brave black folks I’ve read about from this wonderful Medium writer.

The problem of course is that they remain angry, and they must be told what to be angry at. That means they are also subjects, always a rambling crown ready to watch 2000 Mules and be brainwashed by it. They want to be brainwashed by something. They are conditioned to get angry, and to have their anger to live for.

Their anger is different. It is anger at, not anger against. Democrats were against Trump, they voted against him. They wanted him gone so they could return to their own lives. I remember the pictures of some women crying when Trump lost, tears of relief. Nobody cared much about Biden, he was not a choice of passion or hope. But MAGA-ists are angry at blacks, jews, Democrats, etc. It’s anger at whole categories.

For me, Biden was a disappointment in the primaries, and I would have taken anybody over him. But really, I just wanted Trump gone. I was tired of being terrorized every day or riled up against him. He was endlessly angry, and a state of fear is not American in my opinion. Like those women crying from hearing of Trump’s loss, I wanted to get back to my own life.

That I suppose is the good of Biden. He just disappears, recedes into the background of everyday politics. The news without Trump would become like under Obama, with some politic stuff going on, but also about a lot of other things, a lot of other people, other interests. That’s not what happened though.

Now we could be on the verge of anger news again. With Trump still in the picture, a Republican congress is set to impeach Biden for blood sport, not for a crime. There will be rivers of anger flowing through the airwaves. They will offer American nothing else, like Trump who only gave a giant tax break for corporations by taking away the mortgage tax break for middle class homeowners.

The MAGA anger will rage on, an army of intolerance, a lynch mob terrorizing the media countryside, pointed in whatever direction their leaders see the witch in, ready to grab her by the you-know-what and burn her over the fire. Or at least whack her husband in the head with a hammer.

All the time coming for us, their fellow Americans, and serving the rich and powerful by their mob willingness to believe any meritless accusation their leaders furiously make, serving them, the rich, but not really anyone else.
