They’ve always used language like this. The white elite rich rights would used the term “white supremacy” to describe themselves from 1870s to the 1960s, proudly. They spoke openly of being “segregationists” up until 1970. They are the ones that made the laws to segregate in state legislatures and had the governor pass them.
