The Zionists formed in 1898 to plan to invade Israeli and make it their homeland. The facts they were mostly German speaking doesn’t make it an irony, but makes them European. At the time the idea was “natural.” The Berlin Conference of 1884-85 saw the biggest planned invasion of a continent ever that after agreed on these European countries sat down and drew up a map to divide Africa into the countries they made for themselves to invade and extract raw materials from. There was nothing “civilizing” about invading a continent, occupying it, then using the people to extract all their resources. Yet we call it “colonization,” a delusional term that we and the “colonized” find acceptable and agreeable, even though the “colonizer” made this nicely digestible term up.
Your repetition of the hardline Israeli-Americano discourse justifying the invasion and destruction of the people of Gaza (because the building and infrastructure is destroyed already) is quite natural at this point in history. Hitler himself wasn’t using any new and fancy terms about the hatred for Jews, as both the terminology and spiteful animus was present and well-established before Kaiser Wilhelm used it in WW1. The centuries long pogroms against Jews is well known, dating back hundreds of years in Europe, which made that another foundational reasoning structure for the ZIonists to be come Zionists and get out of Europe. To the British Empire that held continents under their control, this tiny strip of land, Israel, was easy to give away to a small group of Jews after the First World War. Those Zionists started building power generation stations, businesses, and “advanced” European technological civilization from the century of knowledge they had from their education in Europe.
But instead of spreading that education and technology for peace they ramped up further invasion, resulting in the Nakba. The West again tired from another world war said “Sure, you’re a nation, why not, let’s end this “Jewish question.” It helped settle their guilt over the Holocaust, that wiped out all kinds of ethnicities, not just Jews, though they were the principle target since they were the most historically persecuted and despised ethnicity in Eastern Europe. The west is no better here, no less culpable than Israel here. But Israel is definitely culpable, and until Netanyahu is on trial along with his goon squad, then they won’t believe it and accept it. “Peace never comes to those who make war” — President Trump, January 6th, metaphorically quoted.
