The Romans had the expressions “bread and circus”, the two things needed to satiate the masses so they don’t have any uprising. The circus was the colosseum, where gladiators fought and exotic animals like captured lions were displayed. Prince Harry is such a creature, not because he represents riches and inherited wealth, and his problems are vastly trivial. He and and his brother “earn” almost $10 million a year because they were born. He is the absence of problems and daily suffering that people should not be reminded of to remain satiated and unanimated, the political version of the Roman lion. I also like the T.S. Eliot line “distracted from distraction by distraction” from the Wasteland.
In short, you’re right. He deserves no attention but gets it anyway and with a signing bonus equal to his yearly allowance. Thanks.
