One Child’s Defenders of Their People is Another Leader’s Terrorists
I caught the end of Biden’s live speech and had to say much of it seemed pretty inspiring. He seemed sharp, threw out some unscripted zingers at Republicans that blasted them, and even promised free pre-K. Promises, promises on social programs again. He’s fit to win and led, and way better than autocracy. But there is always something to disagree with. And this year for me it is unexpected.
When I saw the videos and analyzed the first aid drop where Gazans were slaughtered, the Israeli snipers and soldier ambushing fathers and starving Gazans, using the decoy of aid to shoot and kill hungry families rushing to get aid, that was it for me. With no rights to defend themselves and fight back against the most despicable of war crimes, using aid to shoot down the starving in a concentration camp the Israelis had defeated and rendered homeless, it was now very clear.
It’s what Biden didn’t say when he talked about the Israeli hostages, who he said “we” have to bring home. I don’t recall “we” are on the side of the Israelis fighting the war. But he made clear “we” are at war. He told Hamas to lay down their arms, give up the hostages, and completely surrender.
