The Hindus from India understand caste instinctively far deeper than Americans, so it is “natural” for the large majority to feel entitled in a conservative way in America and want to distinguish themselves from blacks, who they see as the lowest caste run like the Dalits back in India. Many have not apathy toward the black civil rights struggle, which only threatens the caste hierarchical structure they were born into. It isn’t an accident that the Hindus, a growing minority but on the H1-B level, are targeted by GOP using Vivek and Niki Haley (though she is of Sikh origin), or even JD’s wife, to attract a “natural” ally. America does reflect this racial caste system, but it isn’t as hardened as in India, where Hindus have used it for much longer.
