The case could be made and has to be made. I’m now convinced that this was far more more important in making “true slavery.” I totally agree here about it’s importance. It’s also perhaps a footnote I was just thinking of when reading that one could say there really were no politicians during the 1600s and early 1700s, at least not how we think of them today. In the monarchical colony of America, the rule was under a King, a fancy name for a repressive institution of one party state rule. America was until 1776, officially an autocracy. Not that it matters in this case, just a sudden thought.
