If you’re part way intelligent, then maybe you’ll understand the obvious “Duh” moment I just had: Of course President wants to be good friends with Putin, and of course that’s good for the US. That is, not just the U.S. of A. but of “us” the consumers. Here’s the ironclad law of American economics (I just made it up so bear with my extravagant claim): What’s cheap sauce for the goose is cheaper sauce for the gander.

In other words:

Cheaper raw materials means higher profit margins for US global companies.

What’s one way to get cheaper materials? Have the Chinese get them for you. By outsourcing the “dirty work” of procuring raw material resources, that lowers the general costs of the goods. Right now, we are hitting near bottom on labor, so raw material costs are being concentrated on.

The last time costs were deeply cut was with labor. Big labor costs were cut were cut down to small labor costs starting in the 1980s when American capitalists started moving to China. Many had already been ordering from Japan in the 1960s and 70s, with American consumers then labelling those goods as the “cheap junk” from…
