That’s probably because you understand sarcasm, and know that words spoken with such delivery as Chappelle’s are not to be taken at face value. When I moved to the South, I realized there is a whole race of white people who truly do not understand sarcasm and the type of humor where you have to look through the irony to the deeper meaning. Instead, their humor is slapstick, physical obvious humor, evident and on the surface.
