That’s actually the description I have for Southern white men, not black women. After living across the South then settling in Texas, I know white men of a certain sort in particular are also ready to explode. Black women have almost treated me with kindness and warmth. I was checking out a hotel in Louisiana this week and the one at the front desk said with true warmth “you take care of yourself baby.” Maybe I’m lucky, but I don’t think so.
