That was exactly the problem. I was so blind with hope and joy that I thought Kamala would be a shoe in. Instead she had two major strikes against her, being a woman and being black. Despite her toughness, charm, and clearly superior intelligence, many “centrist”white voters saw her only from the outside and it was a bridge too far.
