That means it collides with unalienable rights and democracy. The divide is not between liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, but between autocracy and democracy. It just so happens the white conservative right, historically strongest in the South, is an autocracy that has bound together with Northern Democrats from 1828 to August 1964, then from 1965 to 2024. They are anti-democracy, so there can not be a balance with them, ever, since they have been determined for 500 years to keep Black Americans enslaved one way or the other. They mass disenfranchised black Americans before 1965 in the Jim Crow South by laws of racial divisions, then found a. Way to disenfranchise blacks and Latinos starting really in a mass practice through national felony laws outside the Southeastern region from 1982 to today and next year. 48 states now disenfranchise primarily Black Americans, secondarily Latino Americans, through felony conviction laws, according to Professor Elizabeth A. Hull’s thoroughly researched book on the subject form 2006, Rutger University Press, titled The Disenfranchisement of Ex-Felons. Only two states do not take away voting rights from “felons” in prison or out of prison, where these humans can vote at all times—Vermont and Maine.
It is not a coincidence that mass incarceration tracks with this mass disenfranchisement and mass enslavement and involuntary servitude movement dating form 1982 in practice with the groundwork legally laid from 1968 to 1975 in a practice run of the “drug wars.” The Southern Republicans and their white supremacist allies infiltrated the empty wing of the Republican Party in the South than by their usual aggression and mass funding they took over the Republican Party and copied Nixon. (Don’t forget Nixon actually was a civil rights Republican who as VP urged his boss, Eisenhower, to sign the first and second civil rights bills to protect black voting in 1957 and 1960 and lost to JFK who got all the blue “Solid South” of white supremacists in those states where 95 to 99 percent of black Americans were disenfranchised. Look at the 1960 map and see the “blue South” of white supremacists and read what those “blue” white Senators said about Blacks to see their racism. Don’t go with just current labelling and echo chamber brainwashing.)
The echo chamber is on one side only. Thinkers and critical idea lovers, professors and progressives are on the left because that where Freedom of thought and openness to new ideas and ways of seeing is. It is not merely a mirror reflection of the autocratic right.
Today we live in the country that created more prisons, with factories attached since 1980 than before it from 1800 (920 built verses 750 or so in the first 200 hundred years). Those prisons are used to make blacks, and browns and some poor whites—work as slaves, under the 13th “Slavery or involuntary servitude.” They also act to strip away voting rights, in many states permanently from minorities, now not just in the “Jim Crow South” but across the whole country. It’s a dangerous echo chamber of mass profit and white wealth still being used to crush out voting rights. Now, no national Civil Rights and no Abolishist movement can stop them.
Yes, I’m still a bit nuts. But if we don’t see the actual truth the Dems refuse to prevent and instead bury, then we can say good bye to the shreds of democracy left.
