Thanks, that’s a great piece and I didn’t know some of those key and disturbing facts about Jim Jones, or the congressman shot the airstrip. I think the comparison is apt, and sadly with the current state of things, the Trumpmainia is far more widespread and dangerous. I saw a supremacist tell a foreign journalist that “we have way more guns than the military, but most of them are on our side.” Scary but accurate. Most progressives are not armed and firing weapons every weekend, and don’t own a bunch of guns. The parallels to these three situations are imperative, and in a free society (for now) you can and should be aloud to make them.
The idea of the Knights reminded me of The Knights of the White Camilia in Louisiana were a paramilitary wing of the supremacist party in the 1860s who were then supplanted by the White League in the state because they were more hard core and militant.
