Thanks, I had followed the case a bit but I didn’t hear about these critical details of overt racism. It is indeed a “wow” moment when these two American Defense lawyers try to get their clients off by evoking “dirty” black men as deserving of being seen as criminals and shot. It was multiple comments that made it a strategy in the defense. I had seen the one lawyer twice refer to the black ministers in the audience, which was despicable.
I hadn’t known about the detailed history ofJim Crow either and was glad to get that history lesson. It’s too bad our children can’t learn of it as those facts are most like banned from history books in Texas since even before the CRT “controversy.”
