Thanks for bring this up. It definitely seems difficult to just to a black woman who was shot: I’m so sorry this happened to you, I’m sure it was traumatic. To me as an older white guy, it’s hard to imagine why black men in particular, like 50Cent (who was shot a couple times himself) can’t simply write: “Peace to you Megan, you’re so talented. I wish you the best recovery.” Regardless of what level of culpability she had (none, to some, to self-defense) she was still shot and traumatized. Yet he can’t even pull from his own experience at being shot. Instead he trolls her, using a meme to suggest she is just making something up for attention. No, she really was shot. This level of ridicule for a victim of shooting, from a male victim of shooting, and complete lack of empathy, I just don’t understand. But it brings to my attention the misogyny that happens to black women that compounds the racism already embedded in the system.
