Thanks for being out those facts; I’ve been wondering about that history. Do you know why they renamed it the “White House” in 1901 instead of keeping its previous name? It sounds odd as in 1901, the last black American congressman left office, his term having expired from being voted in 1898. When he left office, all the branches of government were now all “white” again.
