President Biden Does Some Good

Seriously, Biden is doing good and making amends for the 150 years of genocide perpetrated against the Native Indigenous. He headed out to Arizona, a place where they were using irrigation canals to grow cotton and crops starting in 100 BC for hundreds of a thousand years, to apologize. He’s going to say sorry. This is actually long overdue, as he says.

While we can note the complete and obvious irony of apologizing for a genocide against brown people in the middle of an American backed genocide against brown people (at least that how the Native Indigenous and the Palestinians are both seen according to white hierarchical classification), it’s still something. And hey, when hasn’t been American involved in some atrocity.

You remember maybe when Reagan apologized to the Japanese-Americans interned at in concentration camps by white groups of men during World War II? Then he paid the survivors reparations? Or what about the Chinese in the 1880s who were killed by white groups of men on the West Coast, and were paid reparations by the US government? Or the Italian immigrants who were killed by white groups of men and the American government paid reparations back it the 1900s?

Apologies seem to happen, perhaps later and later than usual. Those other ones started after the “genocide”…
