Once again, your clear-headed and lucid writing and ideas are spot on. The only thing I’ve been questioning is the “shocking” phrase. Is it really surprising? I’m not so sure. I’m not that “we” are all celebrating King’s holiday either. The deep injustices show an even deeper inability to conduct police reform—or even a desire to reform. The 98.3 percent statistic shows a depth of complicity so profound and never reversed that is it hard for me now to see any thing other then the systemic part,of,the systemic racist. It shows a deep unwillingness to care about the law by the police and the displays of token outrage by politicians—especially democrats—seem nothing but pretentious chants.
But at least it isn’t me hundred percent of people acceptance of police violence as the lynching period of 1870s-1950 (ish). Then police didn’t even investigate crimes like lynchings against black Americans. Back then, for that hundred years, politicians could barely must a squeak of outrage.
Keep up the efforts. Your voice cannot be stopped or silenced.
