Oh how it plodded sadly along. Once again we get a Batman slugging, slugging, slugging, the fights against Bane that got panned for their lumbering. It’s like the DC filmmakers continue to miss out on not only the orchestration of fight scenes in the MCU but those in modern KungFu scenes like IpMan. Instead they make the same clumsy mistake of making him look like a brawler, and not even a good one at that. There’s more to movies that fight scenes right? Well, OK, but if you’re making superhero movies you better have something super about them. I felt like Batman could have taken the green pumped up serum he used at the end at the beginning, found out it made him faster, stronger, and angrier, but he couldn’t turn back. Then the rest of the movie he has to struggle with this permanent change of speed and strength but rage and anger that he tries to control while doing ‘good.” Along the way he kills a couple people too and they just slap an R on to it. It’s like they didn’t even watch suicide squad., which wasn’t as artsy but a lot more fun with laughter, gratuitous violence and orchestrated fight scenes. Those superhero’s had powers and not just a dark bullet proof suit and a. Guy inside who never took any martial arts or boxing classes.
