Now I have to buy that book. I have to as you stopped before 1776 when America was founded. Does that make a difference? I don’t know. Before that it was the British who made the laws and enforced them. They were responsible for racism in the 13 colonies and should pay any reparations up until that time. The French should pay until 1803 in the Louisiana territory and the Spanish in Florida when they brought the first slave there in 1526! Almost five hundred years of slavery in America, not four hundred.
I’m not sure what that means that other countries were responsible for slavery before America inherited it during the founding. An inherited evil is still an evil. But principles of those 3 other countries (add Portugal if you want to include black slavery there which was very large), is that they were autocracies. In other words, everybody was servant to the “king” (or queen), which is just a fancy name for despot, dictator, czar or autocrat. At one point before Columbus “discovered” America, just about everyone in Europe were slaves (they were actually called serfs, so please don’t use the word slaves when talking to them as it makes them feel bad— they are too busy watching Viking sagas on Netflix and AMC where poor white nordic farmers are made into heroes in order to ignore that whole serf/slave/peasant history thing, in which 99 percent were illiterate, which is very unpleasant for them to even think of.)
