The Real Juneteenth Black American Holiday Takeover
Finally, black Americans have seized part of America for themselves. And of course, the narrative is already changing. Since this is only the second time this national holiday, it will be seized by the white media and bullied until MAGA let’s no corporation off, belittles and ridicules it until even all liberal and centrist white are skeptical and their minds full of distaste. Nobody (who's white and centrist or right wing) likes the real explanation and reason this is a holiday.
The truth: black Americans made their own holiday and celebrated it without any government interference.
That is a narrative that cannot be accepted by any decent centrist whites. It’s not the freedom “given” to the slaves in Galveston, Texas that made the holiday a holiday. It’s the freedom they took. The “official” reason it’s a holiday is to mark the freedom given to slaves when the “union” (American non-traitor general like George Washington, a general in that is) told them they are free. The whites gave them permission on that day to be free.
