Morpheus and Trinity are there to protect “The One.” “The One,” Neo, is the white savior. It is exactly the trope that Morpheus plays into, using his (and the Oracle’s) magical powers to protect the One, or the savior. It is also interesting to find out the Oracle is a black woman that is actually a computer program, a ghost in the machine, which is run and controlled by a white man computer program, the “anti-One.”
