Just a minor point, that marijuana is internationally recognized as a drug by nations, even the US. Some countries have voted not criminalize it, as have some US states, but it’s is still illegal. That doesn’t mean it should be. But it means that the Olympics has to abide by international law. Of course, smoking Mary Jane won’t sped her up, that’s for sure. So it is ridiculous. But the US and others are more cautious given the scandal with Russia’s illegal doping and how they were caught red handed in the Winter Olympics.
