It’s not all Americans that want Trump as POTUS again. You clearly don’t, the author does not for sure, I don’t for sure. Many share your deep animus about him. But, but, his white followers are legion and love him and do want him as president. They want white supremacy now, white supremacy always. They’ve been calling themselves that for over one hundred and fifty years. I couldn’t believe it, having been raised as a northern Yankee by socialist professors—until I moved to Mississippi, then lived in South Carolina and now am in Texas. It took me decades to see what they believe at their core. And it terrifies me, because it is their strong belief, lived, with gun rack behind their heads, for centuries. These hardcore whites are a different wing of American thought and ideology, and even their thinking pattern is different, as seen in their reflexive responses. They view themselves as right and good people, salt of the earth, and view us as weak, feeble minded, corrupt. It’s hard to think like them, and my efforts to try have lead to a scary dark room in the mind—at least for me. For them it’s their mancave where they’re most comfortable.
