It looks like I agree with you and everyone else here. But the Court does not care. They rolled back religious rights with the coach kneeling on the sideline. Everyone knows that church and state are separate, that the government can’t endorse explicitly or implicitly one certain religion over another, or even atheism or agnosticism. We all know that. They ruled time and again that this is the case. But the rolled back this separation of church and state with foundational, thee core of democracy. Bible statues have been removed from courts houses like in Alabama, Ten Commandments removed from walls, school prayer denied again and again. So why did they just do it, let a public school employee on public school grounds say a Christian prayer on the fifty yard line? Because they can. Because they have the power now.
It’s not about originalist junk or beliefs, Federalist Paper society, its about their fundamental anger about not being in obvious control, or hating minorities and other religions rise up. These whiter Christians with their non-secret agenda are supremacists, superior to us. Their pathetic justifications can easily be laid waste to by your analysis, that none erased rights are mentioned. And you’re not even a lawyer or circuit judge. They rolled back women’s right to choice, gave a victory to practicing Christian prayer wising public funds, and protecting the general “Welfare”of its citizens by allowing pollution to flood our air (sorry for the missed metaphor air air and water but they’ll destroy to the water rights next). The general Welfare is right there in the preamble for someone’s sake! The right to breath clean air is protecting the general Welfare of the people. They do it because they can. Even if they rolled back the Loving decision next, Judge Thomas won’t divorce his wife. I personally like to see their naked power-lust agenda laid bare. It reveals. us who they really are: white power autocrats that have never evolved into democracy. I’m just very sad and upset they had to destroy women’s rights, the air and separation of church and state reveal it.
But still, thanks for this analysis. It clearly hits a sore spot for all.
