It is a darkly vexing situation and elderly conservative centrist Biden and the far right wing Trump are both poor choices. There is no organized third Party that has sustained itself. It used to in the first 8 decades there were political parties being created all the time, up to the Civil War, with deep disagreements, different factions being organized all the time. Now there is just a sad duopoly where the system had come to a head, giving Americans an existential choice to vote for an old centrist from a Jim Crow state or true authoritarian. Some new party needs to be sustainably organized. 80 percent of people want some abortion rights; they lost. 80 percent want to see the AR-15 assault rifle banned, not all gun sales just that one. They lost. 80 percent don’t want vouchers schools, they lost are still losing. Most Americans don’t want such poorly run privatized prison systems so drastically underfunded because the private owners and operators such out all our taxpayer money that they are almost abandoned cages where the prisoners have gotten more violent and no reform or rehabilitation takes place. Most Americans don’t want the government to be run by Christian Nationalist, and they might lose next year. Mike Johnson is one and it the third most powerful American now. Don’t think it’s not coming though.
I agree with your sentiment and am simply vexed on what to do.
