Democracy Just Got Jack Smithed Again
It should come as no surprise to students of Black American history that the insurrectionist got off again. Jack Smith has been pulling out chain for years to in the biggest modern cheating scandal in an election since…Well maybe 2000 in Bush v. Gore or The October Surprise in 1980. But the real direct parallel is “far worse.”
I say students of Black American history, but of course that has been banned in schools by certain states, and now we will see that movement nationalized. So, there really is no white awareness of the history of insurrection or coups, the overthrowing of elections by the conservative supremacist wing best associated with the Southern region.
White Americans in particular saw the goodness and riches increase over the course of the 20th century, and anything opposing it gets minimized and dismissed. That’s why they don’t believe there was no overt “cheating” in the 2000 election, where the Supreme Court decision literally decided the election by one vote and voters were left stranded and screwed, not having any real sense that direct election put their leader in the White House.
Since they were accustomed to NOT having their direct vote count but only their indirect vote, the electorate is generally accepting of any strange outcome. In…
