I’m glad you are finding the pleasure in writing and feeling the discovery process when it happens. I agree it’s rewarding. If you want to not get boosted and remain in dark obscurity swimming upstream, then I can offer great advice. I sat down two years ago depressed seeing the success of other writers and thought that I could pivot my strategy to write more about some popular topics like Technology and How to Succeed at Life (I don’t know much about that one but I could mimic that writing well enough). Being a white guy writing longer analytical pieces about racial Injustice and Gaza is not going to get boosted, win many friends, gain some enemies perhaps, but in the end I’m fortunate to not earn a living from it, be content in using this get highly intelligent and thoughtful feedback from great people (who don’t tweet but read), and use that to write longer books. The discovery process is what is extremely valuable, and writing and posting everyday is a great habit to get into. It’s hard to find a balance of joy, excitement, and not obscurity, a modicum of success while not selling your soul. It looks like you are on that journey.
