If I were to picture the top five Americans when I think of America, it is those that have fought for its deepest ideals, that of recognizing the inherent, inalienable rights inside each human, and fought against power with word, risking their lives for the good of all in America. They should be pictured first I think. They would be: Fredrick Douglas, Martin King, Ida Wells, James Baldwin, Malcolm X.
