I would have to completely agree that the election is about voting for an openly White Supremacist or white Racist-in-Chief. That is what is on trial and why his followers like him to begin with. The key reason those followers look “funny” when being interviewed is because they restrain on camera from saying the obvious, the racist tropes they would like to and say in private. That restraint causes awkwardness.
So, the only aspect I would point out is the “normally” justice works like this. From 1834 to 1966, justice never worked like that when a black man or men were accused of anything. That “normal” justice was only for whites. And even then only one white person from 1890-1965 was convicted black men, was prosecuted, and served time in jail. Only one. South of the Mason-Dixon Line there simply was NO due process when white conservative MAGA men made ‘crminal’ allegations against black men or black women.
Justice was ALWAYS subvert, cut short, and ended in white mass lynchings of black Americans, white burnings at the stake of white Americans, white shootings and invasions of black areas where many died. There simply was no “due process” constitutional justice as was in the North. Hence I’m guessing you grew up and live in the North or West Coast, or aren’t a “connoisseur” of Southern white depravities against black Americans. Thus, Trump was and is still appealing to this centuries long “southern” white sense of justice that is deeply embedded in the emotional structure of what Justice means to whites in the South. Without appealing to that “base” of supremacists in the 15 states of the Jim Crow south and even lower Midwest, Trump would have no chance. His visceral and emotional connection with his base stems from a centuries long conditioning of what justice “feels like.” That conveyed feeling causes a deep sense of “loyalty” to him that you and I don’t feel. In fact, we are disgusted by it.
I know you’re “right”, but I’m not we can reach or convince his base. This is to me the most overtly white supremacist election in decades, and he is not politely hiding his openly racist tropes in a suaveness of Reagan or Bush. Trump himself feels that hatred, whereas those others may have, but it was more for political gain that a “religious” commitment. It’s important what you are saying and advocating here and believe we can’t stop until he is defeated (fingers crossed).
Thanks as always.
