I love this idea that there are 'no two sides.' The holocaust was clearly atrocious and lasted for 4 years. The number of killings ramped up dramatically towards the end. The atrocities of slavery lasted 89 years in America technically, from the very first day titled, ironically for blacks, Independence Day, 1776 and ended technically 1865. (Not including the time of slavery before that just on technicalities for 'the sake of historical accuracy' for Texas history books and sticking to just the facts). So yeah, just a bit longer and included all the beatings, whippings, and lynching, free labor--I could on with the facts, but it might appear like I'm talking about atrocities and saying that America and the South the entire 89 years, was like a big concenrtration camp At least from the perspective of blacks. But CRT cleverly forbids the views of blacks at 'theory', and the 'other side'. It is a clever way of white Rebublicans to rile up the base by using it make modern day laws that repress 'alternate' black views from seeping into history books, which should be 'pure'.

The only quibble I have the alternate desire to lump of all whites together and then put some not in that GOP group. What Trump has done is clear, made blacks see whites as a unified race on 'the other side'. I resent being lumped in with that monster. As a white man I'm embarassed by being in his 'clan'. I only ask you to resist the urge. There are substantial number of whites who hate him. Russ Fiengold, the ex-senator from Wisconsin, wrote a scathing warning in a 2017 article that apparently most liberals agreed with that read but none did anything about of big substance. He said Trump's and Pence's main goal was voter suppression: "President Trump and Vice-President Pence’s “election integrity” commission is unequivocally declaring war on voters." The main goal, according to Fiengold, was "the Republican party’s strategy of “one Anglo-Saxon, financially successful person, one vote”.

"After slavery ended, white elites invented felony disenfranchisement as a means to delegitimize black citizens and prevent them from gaining influence. We saw Jim Crow gut-punch our democracy in yet another attempt to disenfranchise minorities. We are witnessing history repeating itself."
