I know I shouldn't say this because I'll get called out on it, but since I was a child I thought all Republicans are white and racist. I looked at the Republican convention when Reagan was getting elected and saw all white people. I did this every four years and continued to see almost all white people, every four years for the next twenty years. Geez, I thought, don't they let blacks into their convention? Where are they all? Then I watched again and still didn't see any. I hate photographic images like that as it distorts my beliefs by making me see only an ocean of whites and makes my mind equate that image into a belief that they're a party of white racists. White, sure, but surely, they couldn't be all racists? Just the doorman was, at least judging by who let in and who he kept out.
