I haven’t experienced this blocking. While I can understand that someone want to block a person from trolling them in the comment sections, I can’t understand being allowed to block someone from being read. It someone wants to write and post, then they should be viewed by all. Just close the comment section. But for them to follow you and they get to read your stuff is unfair.
I highly suspect that many of your followers are decent people interested in engaging openly in new opinions and ideas, tolerant if not embracing differences. That’s just democracy in action. But closed minded people who troll have a tendency to remain anonymous. I highly suspect 95 percent of the people making threats to politicians and others before and after the insurrection were anonymous. They like to hide and threaten without showing their name or face. They lack the courage to be open like you. That’s why some of them wear white pointy hoods.
