I have no idea what the “CRT worldview” is. That is the problem. The right is setting a bear trap and inviting the left to step in it. CRT is becoming serious as school boards talk about banning books by writers who are black, female, etc. It has become shorthand for white power, and there is no debate to be had. No congressional politician on the right can articulate CRT in writing for more than a paragraph nor wants to spell out the policy as it is simply racism. Instead, they use it to fan the flames of hatred and let local school board “leaders” articulate what the practical implications are. So far some board members have made requests to ban books and eliminate references to black participation in history. Hence AOC took the side step on the issue by dismissing the people as angry old whites. It’s a clever strategy, but it doesn’t address the racist implications playing out in school boards. CRT is just the latest manifestation of the “Southern strategy”. It is meant to unify, through anger, the “white angry male tribe” (and their wives) into a national red wave in fear of the “great replacement.” Jim Crow, the super predator, the welfare queen, the list is really quite long of tropes that all point to the same anger of whites inflamed to repress minorities. Time will continue to erode them as it has slavery and other evils of repression of equality as long as we remain vocal, but yes, the centrist whites on both sides want to remain polite and nice suburbanites and not outspoken and can remain the biggest obstacle by a silence that resembles complicity. Thanks for raising the issue.
