I had a realization just now that what are you doing is provoking thought, as opposed to inflaming emotions, like the passport bros. Writing provocateurs are experimenting with ideas out loud and carefully. We are allowed to engage, get commentary feedback, sort through it and do more research and reading, and then change our minds, our viewpoints, our perspectives. Seeing the world or an issue only from one angle—dead on—and being forced to stick to it is looney and known as “loyalty” in political terms, which is despotism or autocracy in my view. Seeking reasoned insights must mean a willingness to circle the issue and poke at it from different perspectives.
I did do the research in Mr. Major’s alleged assault and considered the woman credible, where as I also read about FKATwig’s accusations of assault and daily harassment by Shia LeBeouf. One assault was by a black man and made the new the other by a white man and got some press but not as much attention. It’s seems the male aggressors were of different skin color. Yet to make a personal estimate on their “guilt” doesn’t mean waiting for a judge. Superstars and super lawyers, and often get little to no time from such assaults. Poor black men accused of such assaults on a white woman never got any fair trail or due process or lawyer and were simply lynched for over 100 years after the Civil War. So comparison and observation are tricky and can produce new insights that should be sought after, and not condemned.
Thanks for bring up the case of Dre and Tupac as well in that regard.
