I didn’t think he said he “copped” to a 33 year stretch. It sounded like he was saying the judge or jury gave him 33 years, which is an unfair amount of time. “Copped” means a plea deal, but I don’t recall him saying that. Of course, he is free to regret his former lifestyle, reflect on it over time; that is what should happen in prison, I thought? To be able to use time to “see the error of your ways.” I would that he has done reflection in that regard and come to see that his former lifestyle was not a path he wanted if he could do it all over again.
