I agree with you about medical intervention, as I am sensitive to hearing loss and need to go an audiologist. But I can understand how others operate and of course I can’t hear from somebody else’s ears. So I don’t know what tinnitus sounds like. I probably just need an application device. I have bad vision and always look for correction. But many people don’t feel a need to change, as I’ve had a hard time getting my elderly mother to use hearing aids, which did help her tremendously. Through that struggle with her I found that often people keep a part of themselves intact by denial, almost a prize of identification, a way of rebellion or obstinance to say, “I’ve struggle to make it this far and I’m going to keep on struggling.” In a way it’s a source of inner strength.
