Here’s my opinion as a white man of what you are saying: You have a right to your anger. I doubt it will die down just because you speak out. I hope it doesn’t: don’t let others silence you. The treatment of blacks in American history has been horrible. Don’t let others water it down by saying that racism or slavery exists all over the world, and certainly don’t worry about what I feel as a white man. My feelings almost deserve to be hurt. I hardly doubt some of the feelings of political leaders in Congress have hurt feelings as all. Justice can’t be pushed forward without outrage at injustice people feel. And as my mother said, You can’t give offense if someone else doesn’t take it. It’s their decision to get angry. It’s yours to speak your truth.
