Great narrative and information about a part of US history that is not known and shows the bravery of HCBUs and heroism in the face of repression.
Einstein was unusual in that he was one of only 4 professors or intellectuals to sign a petition against the Reich in World War I. He then saw his Jewish friend executed in 1922, Germany’s foreign minister nonetheless, Minister Rathenau, in broad daylight. Executing Jews apparently was already “in fashion” in the early 20’s and he was just one of many.
