The Tokenism, Part II — Sequel to Birth of a Nation

Latina Woman Watching Flamin’ Hot on the Lawn
Latina Woman Watching Flamin’ Hot on the Lawn [non-Latina AI interpretation]

You’re not content with crumbs? What? Why not? It’s not full on racist. Some people are too uptight and won’t enjoy themselves, like one Latino movie reviewer. They won’t take silly, overblown films meant to be entertaining as fun. This Mexican-American who reviews the new film directed by the actress Eva Longoria called “Flamin’ Hot” is way too critical and sees racism everywhere.

People today are just too uptight. Many people who commented say this a good piece of enjoyable fun worth a couple laughs and moved on with their life, unlike this writer, who is an editorial assistant, and clearly doesn’t know his place.

Flamin’ Hot was made a Latina woman of Mexican descent, so how could it be racist? The film shows Latinos as nice and happy underdogs sambos — -OOOPs! I mean Mexicans. Isn’t that great? Next thing you’ll hear is that a black man running for president under the Republican Party is racist just because he’s a Republican. Calm down, there’s four black men running for the GOP president spot in 2024, and they earned their way there, with merit. Just like Eva, they are “race positive” stories and should be admired, held up as models other people of their race to mimic and gain success from.
