Fabulous article with many great thinking points I’m left with. I can only agree at the mistreat and lack of empathy we see, and the knee jerk reaction by white lawmakers in that state to essentially punish those. The supermajority of white male legislators want to make an “example” out of her.

I am reminded of those scenes of detectives in that or the neighboring state interviewing a rape victim and then arresting her in the recent Netflix documentary Victim/Suspect.
