Who wrote them out of the story? Maybe we should have a month talking about them: White Supremacist Month. It will be full of violence, lynchings, vicious rhetoric, and endless insurrection. Exhausting. Not exactly a celebration of freedom and uplifting of black history month or women’s history month, but remember, someone had to do all that repression for them to overcome so we can celebrate diverse people being uplifted, courageous, and brave.

White men in the South in particular were nasty. Previous lynchings of black American men and women almost always started with an accusation by them. It was always baseless. Yet still people are surprised that DeSantis and the GOP are promoting lies and baseless claims now to ramp up their campaigns. But these are more than campaign speeches, rhetoric that you can blow off. They are becoming laws.

DeSantis is dangerous as he is turning his words into actions. If you can get away with what Democrats see as lying and repression for four years under Trump, without being stopped, then why not keep going, using the power of government to overturn “diversity” or DEI. DeSantis is having his run at creating a police state, at least by Orwell’s standards, and while Fox News makes him Guest Number One, the rest…
