You know when you just realize something that’s been staring you in the face for decades and you finally realize Oh, that’s what is. Yes, it’s one of those pieces. Sometimes noting key stark contrasts and attributes helps to highlight the depth of the issues and how self-deception is created by external institutional forces that disallow real solutions.

Industry service group of 15,000 member restaurants = union.

The waiters and workers union members opposed to them = 0.

Lobby groups and associates are primary ways for businesses to control wages and stop unions from forming.

Unions can’t form to approach government to changes wages.

Lobby unions get frequent privileged access to senators and congressmen and hold dinners for the Supreme Court and meet with presidents.

Most workers can’t form unions so have no access. Others, like teachers’ unions, have little access and no influence.

The government controls union formation.

The government does not control industry associations and lobby group formation.

Unions must ask the government to be recognized.
